A Danish family is here to show the world the magic of wind power. The Jeppesen family has recently installed a 60-foot-tall wind turbine in their back garden, which the housemates claim is capable of powering up the entire house. The turbine is mounted on top of a metal structure similar to an aerial mast or pylon. It is equipped with a ladder that runs up its side, resulting in easier turbine accessibility, making it convenient for the family to fix and maintain the turbine. The entire set-up was sourced from Gaia Wind, one of many wind energy manufacturers to be found in Denmark.
The wind turbine standing in the backyard of a house the Thisted area in northwestern Denmark is capable of producing 35,000 kilowatts annually. The amount of power generated by the turbine is nearly half of what the family requires. The family of seven spent over €40,000 to purchase and install their environment savior. It is expected that the money invested in the project will be recovered in less than 10 years, while the excess electricity can be used to fulfill energy requirements of nearly seven other families.
