For those of you who think that renewable energy is nothing more than wind power and solar energy here is an interesting piece of information. A group of people have come together to produce green energy from animal fats. Employees of the Electrawinds office near the Belgian city of Mouscron have created history by driving a modified Audi A4 diesel around for good 24 hours using animal fats as fuel. The toil of nearly two years resulted in creating a car that offers a supposedly green ride.
Luc Desender, the manager of the Belgian renewable energy company along with a bunch of his co-workers ingeniously transformed an Audi A4 diesel to a green car. The team eliminating the use of biodiesel powered the car using 100% fuel from animal remains, making it the world’s first to have used such a technology. Electrawinds, Belgium’s largest private company for renewable energy has two electricity plants located in the cities of Ostend and Mouscron. The company uses the technology of burning animal fats in both the plants generating green electricity for 85,000 families.
In the end of it all, PETA won’t be pleased with the recent developments since, in a way or the other, the animal rights are at stake. Well PETA, here’s your chance to question if it would not inflict cruelty upon animals.
