Japan’s Panasonic Corp has unveiled its new range of white goods that come equipped with sensors to cut down on energy usage. Dubbed as “Eco Navi”, the sensor-driven, energy-saving function will curtail wasteful operations. Eco Navi has a complete line of home appliances to its name. With this new function, the company aims to serve both replacement cycle demand and energy efficiency demand.
Unlike old appliances that did not have sensors were set to maximum resulting in energy wastage, Panasonic’s white goods with Eco Navi function that monitors usage status and optimizes appliance operation accordingly, maintaining comfort, convenience and other characteristics while reducing energy waste. The success of the toilet offering “instantly heated” warm-water wash seat released in 2005 inspired the company to develop other energy saving products.
Eco Navi has a total of seven products types to its name, which include two washing machines and six refrigerators. The other five products types consists of dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, fluorescent lamp, “Eco Cute” hot water heater and warm-water wash toilet seat. Panasonic is soon going to release an air conditioner, which will add to the brigade of Eco Navi.
